Jio Fiber v/s Airtel V-Fiber: Which one to opt for?

After a stellar run with its mobile services, Reliance Jio looks primed to disrupt the broadband space in India. Just recently, the company launched its fiber-to-the-home service, Jio Fiber, and revealed all the plans. Evidently, Reliance's biggest competitor in this space - Bharti Airtel's V-Fiber - has also revised its plans to take on Jio Fiber. Here's how the two services compare.

Factor #1
Reliance Jio Fiber v/s Airtel V-Fiber: Broadband speed

While both Jio Fiber and Airtel V-Fiber are fiber-based broadband services, the former clearly leads in this department by offering better speed. Jio Fiber's entry-level Bronze plan of Rs. 699/month offer 100Mbps speed while the top-tier Platinum and Titanium packs, which cost Rs. 3,999/month and Rs. 8,499/month, offer 1Gbps speed. In comparison, Airtel offers a maximum of 300Mbps speed with its Rs. 1,599 plan.

Factor #2
Reliance Jio Fiber v/s Airtel V-Fiber: Data plans

Depending on the region, Airtel's catalog has a bunch of plans that offer up to 600GB of high-speed data along with up to 1,000GB as bonus data. The telco also offers an unlimited plan but it is available in select regions. On the other hand, with Jio Fiber, you can get up to 5,000GB of high-speed data, depending on the plan you subscribe to.

Factor #3
Reliance Jio Fiber v/s Airtel V-Fiber: Pricing

Airtel offers only four monthly rental plans ranging from the entry-level Rs. 799 Basic plan to the top-tier VIP pack worth Rs. 1,999. However, the availability of plans differs from region to region. In contrast, Jio offers a total of six plans starting with the Bronze pack which costs Rs. 699/month and goes up to the Titanium plan that is priced at Rs. 8,499/month.

Factor #4
Reliance Jio Fiber v/s Airtel V-Fiber: Additional services and freebies

Airtel's V-Fiber Entertainment, Premium, and VIP plans come with #AirtelThanks benefits including a complimentary annual membership of Amazon Prime and three months of free Netflix. Meanwhile, Jio offers free domestic voice calls, video calling, gaming, and Norton antivirus for up to 5 devices. Moreover, the top-tier Platinum and Titanium plans come with exclusive services like Jio First-Day-First-Show, Jio VR platform, and more.

Advantage
Jio Fiber also offers an attractive Welcome Offer

Further, as part of its Welcome Offer, Jio Fiber customers who subscribe to JioForever annual plans will get more benefits. Under this offer, subscribers will get free Jio Home Gateway device (worth Rs. 5,000), Jio 4K set-top box (worth Rs. 6,400), two months of extra service, double data benefits, as well as complimentary three-month access to subscriptions like JioSaavn, JioCinema, and other OTT services.

Bumper offer
What's more? Well, Jio is also giving free TVs, speakers

Interestingly, subscribers of the Silver annual plan will get Thump 2 Bluetooth speakers while those opting for the Gold annual plan will get a free Muse 2 Bluetooth speaker or a 24-inch HD TV if they choose a two-year plan. Notably, the Diamond, Platinum, and Titanium annual plan subscribers will get a free HD TV but the display size will vary with the plan.
