How Jio's 'All-in-One' Rs. 222 recharge compares against its competitors
  • Taking on rivals like Vodafone and Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio has introduced new "All-in-One" prepaid plans, packing data and talk time in a single recharge.

One of the new packs, priced at Rs. 222, offers 2GB daily data, unlimited Jio-to-Jio voice calls, and 1,000 minutes for non-Jio calls.

Here, we describe how this Jio plan compares with similar offerings from Vodafone and Airtel.

  • In this article
First, here are the benefits of Jio's Rs. 222 pack Airtel's Rs. 249 monthly pack offers 2GB daily data Vodafone takes on Jio with its Rs. 229 prepaid recharge How things stack up?

First, here are the benefits of Jio's Rs. 222 pack

  • The Rs. 222 prepaid plan offers 2GB daily data, unlimited Jio-to-Jio calls, 100 daily SMSes, and 1,000 minutes for non-Jio calls.

According to the company, the added benefit of IUC talk time of 1,000 minutes is worth Rs. 80 to the company.

Further, this affordable "All-in-One" pack comes with a 28-day validity period and offers a free subscription to Jio apps and services.

  • Rivaling Jio's Rs. 222 recharge, Airtel has a Rs. 249 monthly pack which offers 2GB of daily data along with unlimited calling to any network within India and 100 daily SMSes.

Moreover, it also provides free benefits like access to Airtel Xstream Premium, Wynk Music subscription, a 4-week course on Shaw Academy, a 1-year Norton Mobile Security subscription, and Rs. 4 lakh Life Insurance.

  • Competitor #2

Vodafone takes on Jio with its Rs. 229 prepaid recharge

  • Taking on Jio and Airtel in this affordable category of prepaid plans, Vodafone has a Rs. 229 prepaid pack which offers 2GB of daily data and unlimited calling (local, STD and roaming), and 100 SMSes per day for a validity of 28 days.

Additionally, the plan also offers complimentary access to several movies, live TV and shows via the Vodafone Play App.

  • Our verdict

    How things stack up?

    How things stack up?
  • Reliance Jio's Rs. 222 plan is the cheapest of the three but the fact that it doesn't offer truly unlimited calling for non-Jio numbers might be a concern for some users.

Hence, looking at the price and benefit factor, Airtel's 249 plan might be the most expensive here but it packs a ton of benefits including unlimited calling, life insurance, and Xstream Premium access.
