Jonathan Ross of NVIDIA pushes ₹99 AI access for India
NVIDIA's chief software architect, Jonathan Ross, says AI shouldn't be a luxury: he's pushing for an average price of ₹99 so everyone in India can access it.
He explained that lowering the "cost per intelligence" is key, and NVIDIA plans to make this happen by cutting down compute costs and optimizing their AI tech.
Cheaper hardware crucial for India's AI
Ross highlighted that cheaper hardware is crucial if India wants to unlock the full power of AI.
While big names like Google, Microsoft, and Reliance Industries are pouring billions into new data centers, he pointed out that building advanced chips locally is still tough.
Ross said a government-backed common compute infrastructure is one way, but businesses will have a great chance to make money by privately deploying chips—you'll see a lot of that as well.
