Namma Yatri raises $4.4m at steady ₹500cr valuation
Namma Yatri, the Google-backed mobility startup, just raised $4.4 million (about ₹40 crore) in a fresh funding round led by Juspay's Vimal Kumar.
Other backers include Blume Ventures, Navin Dalmia, Antler, and more. This keeps their valuation steady at ₹500 crore ($55 million).
The startup's mission is to make mobility free
Launched in 2022 by Magizhan Selvan and Shan M S as a Juspay spin-off, Namma Yatri connects riders to auto and cab drivers through open-source apps: no commission fees involved.
They're active in eight cities and towns.
They aim to replicate UPI's success in the mobility sector
Moving Tech (the company behind Namma Yatri) has facilitated 46 million trips so far, and has a user base of seven million and 400,000 drivers on board.
Last year they made ₹19.8 crore in revenue but reported a loss of ₹51.25 crore—the founders are aiming for UPI-level impact in mobility by teaming up with communities and governments.
