New GST filing regulations from July 2025
Big update for anyone dealing with GST:
Starting July 1, 2025, new rules will make tax return filing more automated and time-bound.
The goal? Fewer errors, less last-minute editing, and a push for everyone to stay on track.
No manual edits in GSTR-3B
From July 2025, once your tax details auto-fill into the GSTR-3B form, you won't be able to change outward supplies or tax amounts by hand.
If you spot a mistake, you'll have one shot to fix it through GSTR-1A before filing—so double-check early!
Three-year deadline for filing returns
There's now a strict three-year window to file any type of GST return.
Miss that deadline after July 1, 2025, and you can't file late returns—plus you risk losing input tax credit and facing penalties.
If you have old pending returns (over three years), clear them by June 30, 2025 to avoid trouble.
Exceptions might be made if the GST Council approves.
