Paytm's two new features and how to use them
India's most widely used digital payments platform Paytm has added two nifty features in its Paytm store and wallet app. These latest features called Postcards and Automatic are directed towards making the payments platform more user-friendly in nature. These features are available for both iOS and Android users, running the latest Paytm version i.e. version 5.10. Here's how to use these features.
Get the updated version
First of all, if you don't see these features, it means you are not using the updated version of Paytm. Go to the profile section of the app and right below the sign-out option, it will show you the version, which in this case, should be V 5.10.0. If it shows something else, go to the Google Play Store and update your Paytm app.
Choose your amount in Automatic
Now, that you have updated the app, you will get to see Paytm Automatic, when you click on the "Add Money" option. The Paytm Automatic feature will let you input the amount you would like to keep as the minimum balance in your wallet and then the amount that you want to add to your wallet when it goes below that pre-set minimum amount.
Here's how it works
After you type the amounts, you'll have to link your credit or debit card to the wallet. It takes around four hours for this feature to get activated. Paytm uses 128-bit encryption to safeguard your card details, so it's quite secure. The biggest advantage of doing this is that from now on, you don't have to generate OTP or manually enter amount every time.
Keep in mind
This feature adds money only once a day if you go below the minimum amount that you've set. If you have exceeded the monthly limit that Paytm has, this money will only get added to your account the next month. To check your "Paytm Automatic" details, go to your profile. It's in the middle of "Help & Support" and "Linked Apps & Subscriptions" options.
Spread some cheer with Postcards
Now let's come to the "Postcards" feature. This enables you to send money with a virtual postcard, where you can write what you want to and also design it with available themes to make it more cheerful. If the recipient, to whom you have sent money via "Postcards" feature, don't make use of it within 10 days, it'll get credited back to your account.
