RBI approves Vikram Sahu as Bank of America India CEO
Vikram Sahu is now officially the CEO of Bank of America in India, after getting the green light from the Reserve Bank of India.
He takes over the role in late 2024, following RBI approval in December 2024, taking over from longtime leader Kaku Nakhate.
Why bother?
This leadership change comes as Bank of America aims to grow its footprint in India's fast-changing financial scene.
Sahu will be steering strategy, leading the local team, and working closely with Asia Pacific leaders—so expect some fresh moves.
Who is he?
Sahu brings over 30 years of global banking experience across India, the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Europe.
He's an alum of St Stephen's College and holds a master's from the US.
Before this, he led global equity research for Bank of America out of New York.
Who is he replacing?
Kaku Nakhate wraps up a 15-year run as CEO and shifts to Chair for India.
She'll now focus on strengthening client relationships while Sahu handles daily operations and growth plans.
