Reliance takes over majority of Udhaiyams Agro Foods
Reliance Consumer Products just grabbed a controlling stake in Udhaiyams Agro Foods, a well-known Tamil Nadu brand famous for staples and ready-to-cook mixes.
Announced on Thursday, December 18, 2025, this move brings Udhaiyams into Reliance's growing FMCG family, with the original promoters keeping a smaller share.
Why does this matter?
Udhaiyams has been trusted in South Indian kitchens for decades—Reliance director T Krishnakumar even noted that it is "a true reflection of Tamil Nadu's rich heritage enriched with its scientific temper and superior quality."
While the price tag is under wraps, Udhaiyams had revenues around ₹668 crore recently.
For Reliance, it's another big step to take regional favorites national and expand its presence in everyday foods across India.
