How Salesforce plans to expand its operations in India

Salesforce, a leading US-based IT firm, has announced plans to further invest and expand its operations in India. The company's Executive Vice President and MD (South Asia), Arun Kumar Parameswaran, said that India has the right talent pool for their business. Since starting operations in 2005 with a center of excellence in Hyderabad, Salesforce has grown significantly across six locations in the country.

Salesforce has seen its workforce grow from 2,500 in 2020 to over 13,000 today. This five-fold increase shows the company's commitment to investing and growing in India. Parameswaran said that "the country has a lot of skills that everybody wants to hire." He also highlighted Salesforce's ability to deliver innovation at scale and speed as a key factor behind their growth strategy.

Global revenue projections and AI focus
Salesforce expects its global revenues to exceed $41 billion by FY26. The company's VP of Product Management/Responsible AI & Tech, Rob Katz, emphasized that ethical and responsible AI is at the core of their innovation and product development. He also assured that Salesforce follows an AI acceptable policy while ensuring 100% data privacy and protection for its users.

Growth drivers in India for Salesforce
Salesforce South Asia CEO Arundhati Bhattacharya had previously told PTI that the BFSI, retail, and manufacturing sectors will drive the company's growth in India over the next three years. She also mentioned other sectors such as travel, tourism, hotels, healthcare, real estate, and education are showing steady growth. This consistent momentum across various sectors is a key part of Salesforce's expansion strategy in India.
