Sensex, Nifty end week on a high as banking and tech stocks rally

Monday saw a strong start to the week for the markets—Sensex jumped 638 points to 85,567 and Nifty climbed 206 points to 26,172.
Most stocks ended in the green, showing lots of buying interest across sectors.

Midcaps, banks, and IT led the charge

Midcap and banking stocks were big winners: Nifty Midcap rose 505 points and Nifty Bank added 235.
Defense names like IdeaForge shot up over 17%, while DCX Systems gained more than 9%.
Tech giants Persistent Systems, Wipro, and Infosys each gained over 3%, keeping the IT sector's winning streak alive.
Even metals had a good day—Hindustan Zinc rose as silver prices surged.
