Tata Trusts brings in Neville Tata and Bhaskar Bhat as new trustees
Tata Trusts just named Neville Tata (son of chairman Noel Tata) and Bhaskar Bhat as trustees for the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, both set for three-year terms.
This move strengthens Noel Tata's influence over the trust, which holds a big 28% stake in Tata Sons—the group's holding company.
Why does this matter?
Neville, who led Zudio (yep, that value fashion brand), is stepping into a bigger leadership role as part of a governance shake-up.
With the executive committee gone, the CEO now reports directly to chairman Noel Tata.
All these changes are happening ahead of some pretty major moments—like the possible public listing of Tata Sons and N Chandrasekaran's reappointment as chairman in 2026.
Who is Bhaskar Bhat?
Bhaskar Bhat is an IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad grad who helped turn Titan into India's top jewelry and accessories brand during his time as managing director.
His arrival could mean some reshuffling on the six-member board of Tata Sons—either someone steps down or they make room for another trust nominee.
