Universal Studios eyes Saudi Arabia for next theme park

Business

Universal Studios might be bringing its next big theme park to Saudi Arabia, aiming to keep up with Disney's new Abu Dhabi park, announced in 2025 and expected to open in the mid-2030s.
Early planning is underway, and it looks like a government-backed group could help fund the project through a licensing deal.

Not Universal's 1st Middle East attempt

This isn't their first shot in the region—back in 2008, Universal started building a Dubailand park but only got as far as the entrance arch before financial troubles shut it down.

What's next for Universal?

If this Saudi park happens, don't expect it before the 2030s.
Meanwhile, Universal is busy worldwide.
