Urban Company posts 37% revenue growth in Q2FY25

Business

Urban Company, known for bringing beauty, repair, and home services right to your door, posted a 37% rise in revenue for the quarter ending September—reaching ₹380 crore.
Most of this came from India (₹262 crore), with international business up 8% (₹41 crore).
Still, losses grew to ₹59 crore compared to just ₹1.8 crore in the same quarter last year (Q2FY25).

What does Urban Company do?

Started in 2014, Urban Company connects users with everything from salon and spa sessions at home to plumbing fixes and appliance repairs.
After its blockbuster IPO this September—oversubscribed by 103.63 times and debuting at a 57% premium—the company operates in 51 cities across India, UAE, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia, serving about 7.4 million users each year with help from around 50,000 service professionals monthly.

The company's recent IPO and its acquisition of Insta Help

Besides offering a wide range of home services (and even selling smart locks and water purifiers under its Native brand), Urban Company recently turned profitable thanks to a tax credit—posting ₹240 crore net profit this financial year (FY25) on ₹1,144 crore revenue.
But short-term losses are expected as it invests more into Insta Help to keep up with fast-moving rivals in the space.
