#CareerBytes: How to get admission in foreign universities through GATE?
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is one of the most competitive exams for engineering graduates. It is a national level exam conducted for admission to postgraduate courses, including at premier institutes like IITs and NITs, but GATE scores are used for PSU recruitment too. However, one can also get admission in some foreign universities through GATE. Here's all you need to know.
Apart from educational institutions in India, the GATE scores are accepted by four foreign universities for admission of candidates to postgraduate courses as the examination has international recognition too. The four foreign universities that consider GATE scores include National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore and Technical University of Munich and RWTH Aachen in Germany.
These above foreign universities admit only those Indian students who have cleared GATE and scored at least 90 percentile in it. Apart from this, candidates must appear for IELTS or TOEFL and obtain a good score to determine their English proficiency. They should also have a good percentage/CGPA in their bachelor's degree course. However, further selection process may vary from one university to another.
The GATE score of a candidate is valid for up to three years for admission to postgraduate programs offered by Indian educational institutions. Similarly, these foreign universities also consider the GATE score of a student for admission for up to three years.
