Fire breaks out at AIIMS Delhi, emergency ward closed: Report

A fire reportedly broke out on Monday in the endoscopy room near the emergency ward of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. According to ANI, eight fire tenders rushed to the spot, and the blaze was immediately brought under control. All the staff and patients were safely evacuated after a fire call was received at 11:54am from the emergency ward.

While no casualties have been reported so far in Monday morning's fire incident, the hospital authorities have made the decision to close down the emergency ward until further notice. On the other hand, those coming to the hospital for emergency treatment have reportedly been asked to visit the Safdarjung Hospital due to this major development.

Fire department reveals details on fire's location

As per the news outlet NDTV, the fire department revealed that the fire initially broke out on the Old Raj Kumari OPD Building's second floor. "The fire broke out on the second floor of the Old Raj Kumari OPD Building. It was brought under control by firefighters, but the search operation is still ongoing," stated the fire department.
