Ghaziabad: NEET qualifier held with cousin's body stuffed in suitcase

A Ghaziabad-duo was caught red-handed as they were about to dump a suitcase, which had a sliced-up human body stuffed inside, in the Yamuna River Sunday. The suitcase was blood-stained, which caught the Vrindavan Police's eye. Among the duo was a 20-year-old, who cleared the NEET exam this year. The body in the suitcase was later found to be his cousin's.

A brawl ensued as trio got drunk, and murder happened

After getting caught, 20-year-old Vishal Tyagi and his friend Paurush Kumar blurted out details of their grisly act. According to them, on Sunday, they along with Vishal's paternal cousin Deepanshu were drinking and talking in their Greater Noida flat. An argument broke out, leading to soaring tempers, and a fight ensued. Deepanshu allegedly misbehaved with the two, which aggravated the situation.

Duo cut Deepanshu's body, stuffed in suitcase, went to Vrindavan

Vishal and Paurush then overpowered Deepanshu and strangled him to death. Their next plan was to dispose of his body. For that, they cut the corpse into two, so it fit in a suitcase. They then hired a radio cab from Greater Noida to Vrindavan, a three-hour drive. Upon reaching Vrindavan, they caught an e-rickshaw to reach a guesthouse near Yamuna, their disposal point.

Third person involved, role not known yet: Revelation

However, their luck ran out when a police van noticed them. They were immediately taken into custody along with the suitcase. Upon questioning, Vishal revealed everything. He further claimed the involvement of a third person named Kuttu; however, his role isn't yet known. Cops said Vishal and Paurush could have evaded suspicion, had they remained nonchalant in their movements.

Deepanshu, Vishal and Paurush had stayed together for five months

A case under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (disappearance of evidence of offence) has been registered against them. Tyagi, a doctor's son, had been living in Geotech Pristine Avenue with Paurush and Deepanshu for five months. Deepanshu, also from Ghaziabad, had lost his father during childhood, and was being raised by his mother. She is still in a state of shock, said cops.
