Police case against woman for thrashing another in Gurugram bar

    What's the story

A brawl between two women in a Gurugram bar turned ugly when one started thrashing another, while threatening to kill her.

The incident happened last week around 1AM in a bar in Sector 29.

Onlookers said both the women were drunk when they indulged in the fight.

Police have booked the woman who initiated the scuffle and is investigating the case.

    Details

Fight broke out on dance floor, younger woman ensued fight

The fight broke out after the two women, aged 28 and 40 years, hit the dance floor after dinner, accompanied by their respective friends, cops said.

What sparked tempers isn't yet clear, but onlookers said it was the younger woman who started arguing with the other.

Soon, it had turned into a physical fight.

The bar manager then dialed 100.

    Actions

Case registered, no arrest yet, CCTV footage to be scanned

By the time cops reached, the 28-year-old managed to flee from the scene.

While she's a private sector employee, the 40-year-old is a housewife and stays in DLF Phase-I, some 5.6kms from the bar.

Cops said a case under IPC Sections 323 (causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) have been registered.

ASI Sunil Dhaka confirmed the incident, adding that they've asked for CCTV footage.

    Past events

Gurugram bars and fights go hand in hand

Gurugram bars have become synonymous with fights. Last year in October, over 12 men, brandishing pistols and lathis, barged into a bar and shot at two employees, while injuring several others.

They broke glass windows, damaged an escalator and went on a rampage for 45-minutes.

It was retaliation as their friend was abused in the same bar a month ago.

    They were finally nabbed.
