2 men arrested for murder of 18-year-old in Jahangirpuri

A man and a juvenile have been arrested for the murder of an 18-year-old in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri area. The incident took place on March 3 when two rival groups clashed near CD Park. The violence escalated into firing, stone pelting, and stabbing, Hindustan Times reported. The deceased, identified as Rehmatulla alias Bhola, was first rushed to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital after being shot, but succumbed at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital during treatment.

Apart from Rehmatulla, two others were injured in the clash. Aftab, 18, suffered a head injury from stone pelting, while Sahjaan Ali was stabbed during the fight. The police registered a case based on a complaint by Jamir Ahmad, an eyewitness who was with Rehmatulla at the time of the incident.

Arrests made after several raids
The police investigation revealed that an argument between the rival groups turned violent. Hasmat alias Ashu allegedly took out a country-made pistol and tried to fire, while his associate Firdosh alias Chumma shot Rehmatulla. A police team conducted several raids at hideouts, leading to the arrest of Hasmat and the juvenile. A country-made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from the Mangal Bazar area of Jahangirpuri.

Accused confessed to crime
Both accused confessed to their involvement in the incident during questioning. They said the clash was due to a previous rivalry. The officer also revealed that Hasmat is a habitual offender with a past robbery case. Efforts are on to trace and nab other accused involved in this violent clash.
