Malayalam actress breastfeeds in a bold magazine cover shoot
What's the story
Gilu Joseph, a Malayalam model, actor and writer, has dared to pull off something that hasn't been attempted in the history of cover-shoots before. She has posed breastfeeding her child on the cover of a fortnightly magazine called Grihalakshmi. So far, the reactions to this brave endeavor have been polarizing but that does not seem to be a concern for Gilu. And, rightly so.

Gilu's take on the concept
While many actresses would be wary of taking up such a project, Gilu did not even think twice before saying yes. To those who have anointed themselves as the moral police, she said, "It is a problem to interpret this sexually. Isn't it a beautiful thing, friends? Why do you think it is wrong? Which god will be angry if you feed your child."

On whether she had any reservations regarding the shoot
"I am extremely proud of my body and only I exercise rights over it. I only do things that I think is right for me, which is why I had no qualms about taking up this project," she added.
Unfortunate
Her family did not approve of her decision
Her family, that has a mother and two sisters, did not want her to take up the project. Although she respects and understands their point of view, she said, "Nothing can deter me from doing what I feel is right." We are proud of this girl for challenging the patriarchy in the society.
