New trailer: Ajay Devgn's 'Rudra' is officer with criminal mind
Disney+ Hotstar is not leaving any stone unturned to get fans all hyped up about its upcoming series, Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness. They dropped a new trailer on Monday. Starring Ajay Devgn in the titular role, this show will be an Indian adaptation of the popular British drama series, Luther, headlined by Idris Elba. Here's a breakdown of the second trailer.
This is what the new clip told us
The brand new trailer begins with a bone-chilling dialogue delivered by Devgn: "Jo andhero mein chupta hai, main usse wahi milta hu [Those who hide in darkness, I meet them there]." This tells us that his character, ACP Rudraveer Singh doesn't hesitate to look beyond laws to punish wrong-doers. Attracted by his unusual means, Aliyah (Raashii Khanna) stalks Rudra and starts challenging him.
We get major details into conflicts in Rudra's life
But Aliyah is not the main threat (or is she?) as another culprit starts committing murders across the city. In the first trailer, we were introduced to a "triple murder case," and this killer might be the same one. We were also told about trouble in Rudra's personal life and in the recent clip, we see his wife (Esha Deol) is having an affair.

To mark V-Day, Aliyah had shared special message for Rudra
On Sunday, Khanna had dropped a video message in her Aliyah avatar for Rudra. Asking him if he had planned anything for her on the occasion of Valentine's Day, Aliyah had revealed she has loads of things lined up for Rudra. We can understand her character is thoroughly obsessed with our protagonist. It'll be interesting to see how their chemistry works out.
