Amid tensions, Sarit Hadad announces separation
Sarit Hadad, one of Israel's best-known singers, has shared on Instagram that she and her partner Tamar Yahalomi are separating after seven years together.
She made the announcement during a tense time for the country, wishing everyone "good days and good news" as both she and Israel face challenges.
The couple welcomed their daughter in 2022
Hadad came out publicly in 2021 with her song A Love Like Ours, co-written with Yahalomi—a big moment for LGBTQ+ visibility in Israeli pop.
Together, they welcomed their daughter Adele Esther in 2022 (carried by Yahalomi), joining Hadad's two daughters from a previous relationship.
Their openness was widely respected in both LGBTQ+ and entertainment circles.
Hadad represented Israel at Eurovision 2002
Since starting out in 1994, Hadad has released 24 albums and even represented Israel at Eurovision 2002.
She's known for mixing Mizrahi pop with modern sounds, and her coming out reflected changing attitudes in society.
The separation signals a new chapter for her as she navigates personal changes alongside national uncertainty.
