Hussain cited a similar case as precedent
To bolster his complaint, Advocate Hussain has cited a similar case from February. In that case, the Chamarajpet police arrested a man for allegedly flashing the middle finger at a woman near Gopalan Mall. An FIR was registered based on the woman's video complaint for obscene gestures and insulting a woman's modesty. The lawyer emphasized that courts have previously held that showing the middle finger toward a woman constitutes an obscene gesture intended to insult.
