Badshah's 'Tateeree' faces FIR over lyrics, visuals
Haryanvi rapper Badshah has been called in by Haryana Police after his new song Tateeree sparked complaints about indecent lyrics and the objectification of minors.
The track, released in early March 2026, now faces an FIR under laws related to offensive content and portrayal of women.
Lyrics and visuals that have landed Badshah in trouble
Listeners and activists say the song's lyrics (where a girl is called Tateeree) have suggestive undertones.
The music video shows girls in school uniforms dancing in a classroom setup, which critics like Renu Bhatia from the Haryana State Commission for Women say could encourage negative stereotypes about women.
Badshah has pulled the song from platforms
Badshah took to Instagram on March 7, 2026 to clarify that his lyrics were never meant for any woman or child, explaining that hip-hop often uses competitive language.
He's since pulled the song from all platforms but shared he's still proud of his Haryanvi roots.
