Renowned singer Benny Dayal was performing live at a college in Chennai when a drone camera struck him, leaving the singer with minor injuries. A video of the incident which took place at Chennai's Vellore Institute of Technology went instantly viral on social media. Following the incident, the crooner took to Instagram to share details of the episode.

Dayal is known for lending his voice to popular Bollywood songs such as Badtameez Dil from Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and the title track of Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif's 2014 film Bang Bang! The playback singer has been touring the country with his live concerts and enjoys a huge fan following for his peppy songs.

Dayal briefed fans on the incident 

The Daru Desi hitmaker spoke at length about the incident saying the drone camera accidentally hit him on the back of his head while he was performing live on the stage. The incident caused him bruises on the head as well as injuries on two of his fingers. "I am going to recover from this much faster," he said.

He advised artists on drone policy 

Speaking further on the incident, Dayal advised all the singers to have a drone policy wherein the camera doesn't come too close to the artist who is performing. He also asked the organizers to ensure that they rope in professional drone operators. "Please all colleges, companies, show or event organizers, get a certified drone operator because it's very dangerous," he added.

Artists showed concern

Artists sent him get-well-soon wishes  

Dayal's post was followed by many comments from his counterparts from the industry. Singer Armaan Malik who supposedly met Dayal right before his performance wrote: "Take Care Benny, hope you get well soon!" Three-time Grammy-winner Ricky Kej wrote, "You're one of the kindest and best persons I know. Just this video, in spite of what you went through, is oozing with kindness and empathy."
