Box office: 'Kantara' sets new weekend record for 2025

Rishab Shetty's latest, Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1, just pulled in a massive ₹162.85 crore at the box office during its opening weekend.
The film made an eye-popping ₹61.85 crore on day one—leaving other recent releases like Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar (₹10 crore) way behind.

'Kantara' is on its way to ₹200 crore club

Kantara set a new high for Saturday earnings this year with ₹55 crore, and even after a slight dip to ₹46 crore on Friday, it looks set to cross the ₹200 crore milestone soon.
If that happens, it'll join KGF 2 as only the second Kannada film ever to do so.
With stars like Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah alongside Shetty, plus hints at another sequel in the finale, this franchise is definitely not slowing down.
