Charlize Theron criticizes Bezos's wedding attendees
Charlize Theron didn't hold back when talking about the star-studded Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez wedding in Italy.
At the fifth annual Block Party for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP), she joked, "I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding. But that's okay because they suck and we're cool," making it clear she wasn't impressed by all that glitz.
Theron spoke about real issues
Theron was speaking at her Africa Outreach Project's annual Block Party, which supports youth health in South Africa.
She used her speech to thank guests for caring about real issues—like immigration breaking up families, women's rights being rolled back, queer and trans lives being erased, and rising gender-based violence—instead of just celebrating with billionaires.
Bezos-Sanchez wedding was also protested
The $50 million Bezos-Sanchez wedding drew major celebs like Oprah and Leonardo DiCaprio but also sparked protests over wealth inequality and billionaire taxes—the same issues Theron highlighted.
Her message? Maybe it's cooler to care than to party with the ultra-rich.
