Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' to release 6-minute prologue in theaters

Christopher Nolan's upcoming film The Odyssey will debut a prologue in theaters this weekend in the US. A nearly six-minute clip will be screened on Friday, December 12, at IMAX 70mm screenings of Sinners and One Battle After Another. The following weekend, a shorter version of The Odyssey trailer will be shown before all Avatar: Fire and Ash screenings starting December 19.

The extended trailer is set to be screened on IMAX 70mm screens because it is Nolan's preferred format. The Odyssey will also be the first movie shot entirely with IMAX cameras. A minute-long teaser of The Odyssey was released earlier this year, ahead of Jurassic World Rebirth and Superman screenings. The film, an adaptation of Homer's Greek epic, stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, the king of Ithaca. 'The Odyssey' tickets are already on sale for select screenings
Given Nolan's stature in Hollywood, Universal has decided to sell tickets for The Odyssey 12 months prior to its release. However, this is only applicable for select IMAX 70mm screens across the US. For those who missed out on buying tickets a year in advance, regular tickets will be available closer to the film's release date. The Odyssey will hit theaters on July 17, 2026.
