Disney's live-action 'Moana' trailer is here; film releases in 2026
Entertainment
Disney just dropped the first trailer for its live-action Moana, landing in theaters July 10, 2026.
Catherine Laga`aia steps into the role of Moana, while Dwayne Johnson returns as Maui.
Directed by Thomas Kail (yep, the Hamilton guy), the movie brings back those memorable moments from the animated classic—now with a fresh look.
Who's in it and what to expect
Alongside Laga`aia and Johnson, you'll see John Tui as Chief Tui (Moana's dad), Frankie Adams as her mom Sina, and Rena Owen as Grandma Tala.
The film appears to recreate the songs and moments from the original, as seen in the trailer.
It's set for release right between Minions 3 and The Odyssey next summer—so mark your calendars!
