Elon Musk calls Gibney 'bitter old man' after documentary backlash

Elon Musk, the billionaire behind Tesla and SpaceX, has lashed out at Alex Gibney, the director of a new documentary about him. The four-hour film premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Tuesday. In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Musk called Gibney a "bitter old man" with "zero integrity." He also criticized the documentary as a "hit piece," adding that it "lacks any integrity."

Musk also appeared to endorse a conspiracy theory by commenting on an image on X that depicted the Democratic Party as a puppet controlling another puppet labeled "Team Soros."
The latter is a nod to billionaire George Soros, who has funded progressive causes.
This puppet, in turn, controls another labeled "Alex Gibney," who controls yet another labeled "Hollywood."
In response to the image, Musk said: "Accurate."
Denial
Musk denies ex-partner's $40 million NDA offer claim
Musk also denied a claim made by his ex-partner, the former MAGA influencer Ashley St Clair, who alleged that his team offered her $40 million to sign a non-disclosure agreement about their relationship.
"She was never offered that and has a history of making false claims," he wrote.
What's more, a lawyer for Musk is threatening to file a defamation lawsuit, per NPR, for certain claims attributed to the techie in the film.

Gibney's documentary, titled Musk, examines the tech mogul's influence on public discourse through X and the content it prioritizes.
The film has been controversial since its premiere, with some subjects involved in the project making claims that have stirred up debate.
