'Tejas': Kangana Ranaut's first look as IAF pilot out

Kangana Ranaut's first look from her forthcoming film Tejas is out. The actress will be seen essaying the role of an Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot in the military drama movie. The movie will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP Movies and directed by Sarvesh Mewara. Here are more details on this.

Kangana's bold look in her first war drama movie

In the first look poster, shared by RSVP Movies and Kangana's team on social media, the actress looks bold and courageous, donning an Air Force uniform, a pair of aviators, and carrying an IAF helmet in hand. Kangana can be seen walking ahead of a giant Air Force jet. Notably, Tejas will be Kangana's first war drama movie.

RSVP's second film on armed forces, after the blockbuster 'Uri'

To recall, the Indian Air Force was the first of the country's defense forces to allow the induction of women into combat roles, in 2016. Kangana's movie reportedly draws inspiration from this landmark event. Further, Tejas will be RSVP Movies's second film to be based on the armed forces, after Vicky Kaushal-starrer blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike, which minted a whopping Rs. 245 crore.

Excited and honored to share this brave story: Screwvala

Talking about the film, producer Screwvala said in a statement, "We are excited and honored to share this brave story with viewers and hope it inspires many more women to join the Air Force."

Hope to instill a sense of patriotism and pride: Kangana

Meanwhile, Kangana said, "Very often the sacrifices made by our brave women in uniform go unnoticed by the nation. Tejas is a film where I have the honor of playing the role of one such Air Force pilot that puts country before self." "I hope we instill a sense of patriotism and pride in the youth of today with this film," she added.

'Tejas' set to release in April, 2021

Tejas is set to go on floors this summer and will release in April next year. Meanwhile, Kangana is currently busy filming for Thalaivi, a movie based on the life of the late politician and film actor, Jayalalithaa.
