Cersei-Jaime part 2? 'GoT' author had planned Jon Snow-Arya romance

    What's the story

If you love HBO's cultural phenomenon of a series Game of Thrones, you might find it unsettling that originally A Song of Ice and Fire author George RR Martin had planned a romance between Jon Snow and his "half-sister" Arya Stark.

Apparently, one incestuous brother-sister relationship didn't cut it. However, recently, he revealed that he regrets the Jon-Arya love story.

    Here's what he said.

    Details

Martin wishes he could go back and make revised drafts

According to the web-portal westeros.org, which the 70-year-old American novelist claims to rely on as a fact-checking resource, the author now regrets ever planning a romance between Jon and Arya.

Westeros.org quotes the author as saying, "The story changes and expands as I write. I wish I was able to go back and make revised drafts, but that is not going to happen."

    Original plot

Fans have even spotted foreshadowing of the romance in books

According to the original two-page outline that Martin had submitted to the publisher, which was leaked online without the author's permission, "Jon and Arya become a romantic item."

In fact, certain fans have even noticed excerpts in the first book, A Game of Thrones, that were foreshadowing the budding romance between Jon and Arya. Evidently, it could be a bit disturbing to read now.

    Foreshadowing

Here's a passage from the book 'A Game of Thrones'

In the book, there's a passage on how Arya misses Jon "even more than Robb" and the two shared a connection as they "never seemed to fit."

Martin writes, "He (Jon) would give anything to be with her (Arya) now, to muss up her hair once more and watch her make a face, to hear her finish a sentence with him."

    The show

'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Episode 2 aired today

Paired with the fact that the two characters shared an emotional reunion in the first episode of the eighth season, it could be sort of disturbing to think about for some fans.

Rest assured, Jon seems to be all in with Daenerys for now and we are all unanimously shipping Arya with Gendry.

Meanwhile, episode two of season eight of the show aired today.
