Gurinder Chadha brings 'Homebound' to London for Oscars buzz
Entertainment
Filmmaker Gurinder Chadha just hosted a special London screening of Neeraj Ghaywan's "Homebound," which is now on the shortlist for Best International Feature at the 98th Academy Awards.
The film, India's official entry this year, first wowed audiences at Cannes and is now one of only 15 films in the running.
A celebration of friendship and powerful storytelling
Chadha, who's been friends with producer Karan Johar since their Cannes days, called supporting "Homebound" a "no-brainer."
She praised its honest take on human connection during COVID-19 and shared how much she values her bond with Johar—whom she affectionately calls her "Punjabi pra."
For Chadha, getting behind films that matter is what it's all about.
