Hansal Mehta to direct Hindi remake of 'Perusu'

The Tamil comedy Perusu, released in March 2024 and directed by Ilango Ram and starring Vaibhav and Niharika, is getting a Hindi remake.
After winning over multiplex audiences since its March release, the film caught the eye of Hansal Mehta and Mukesh Chhabra, who've snapped up remake rights.
The new director and cast haven't been announced yet.

OTT deal and streaming platform

Perusu made back its money even before hitting theaters by selling OTT rights in advance.
With Netflix picking up post-theatrical streaming (in multiple languages) and Bollywood now on board, this small-town comedy is set to reach way beyond Tamil Nadu.
