Hema Malini's prayer meet for Dharmendra; Delhi CM attends

Veteran Bollywood actor and politician Hema Malini hosted a prayer meet for her late husband, legendary actor Dharmendra, in Delhi on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The event took place at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in Janpath and was attended by their daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also paid her respects at the service.

In a clip shared by PTI, Gupta expressed, "A person like Dharmendra ji, an artist like him, a man dedicated to society the way he was, such a person is born only once in centuries." "His down-to-earth nature, his smile ruled the hearts of every Indian. His passing is undoubtedly sorrowful, but his performances and films will forever hold a place in our hearts."

Malini and daughters paid floral tributes
Malini, Esha, and Ahana were seen paying floral tributes before Dharmendra's portrait at the prayer meet. The earlier prayer meet in Mumbai, hosted by Dharmendra's first wife Prakash Kaur and their children Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Ajeeta, and Vijeta, brought together an extraordinary gathering of well-wishers. On the same day as the Mumbai event, Malini and her daughters held a private puja at their home.

Malini's reflections on their life together
On December 8, the day that would have been Dharmendra's 90th birthday, Malini took to social media to reflect on their life together. She expressed her pain and how she is "slowly gathering up the pieces and trying to reconstruct my life" after his demise. "The joyful memories of our life together can never be erased and just reliving those moments bring me great solace and happiness."

Malini's respectful words for Kaur
Dharmendra married Kaur in 1954, and they had four children. In 1980, he married Malini, with whom he had two daughters. Over the years, Malini has spoken sparingly but respectfully about Kaur. In her biography Hema Malini: Beyond The Dream Girl, she wrote, "Though I have never spoken about Prakash, I respect her a lot." May the icon's soul rest in peace.
