Jackie Shroff joins 'Bharat' cast; to play Salman Khan's father
Salman Khan's upcoming movie 'Bharat' is one of the most anticipated movies of 2019. The movie's cast namely Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Tabu, has ensured the movie stays in headlines. And, now there is a new addition to 'Bharat'. Jackie Shroff has joined the cast and will reportedly be essaying the role of Salman's father in the movie. Isn't this exciting?
Director Alia Abbas Zafar was quite elated to have Shroff on board and is all praises for him. According to Zafar, he is a perfect mixture of an actor and a star. "We met Jaggu dada in London and discussed dates and looks. I was glad when he agreed to do the film in just 20 minutes of the narration," Ali told Mirror.
Indeed, Shroff's addition has made 'Bharat' tad bigger. Interestingly, the veteran actor will be working with Salman after eight years. The two stars were last seen in 2010 release 'Veer' in which they were rivals. While most of the movies have featured the stars as friends, this is the first time Shroff-Salman will portray father-son duo, which is a core part of 'Bharat'.
Notably, this Ali Abbas Zafar directorial is a Hindi adaptation of a South Korean movie 'Ode To My Father'. The original movie had a backdrop of Korean war and revolved around a man who got separated from his family. The man's reunion with his family, years later, made the movie a roller-coaster ride. It's left to be seen how Salman essays his role.
Meanwhile, the team of 'Bharat' recently wrapped up the second schedule of the movie in Malta. Several pictures from the sets of the movie have gone viral on social media. In fact, Zafar also shared a stunning picture of Salman with the leading lady, Katrina Kaif as he announced the wrap up of the second schedule.
Reportedly, Salman Khan will have five different looks in the movie which will be a compilation of 60 years. Besides, 'Bharat' will also have Salman in his late 20s looks. The much-talked about movie will be Salman's Eid gift to his fans next year.
