Shivarajkumar's cameo in 'Jailer 2' will be 'bigger this time'

Kannada actor Shivarajkumar recently revealed that he will start shooting for Jailer 2 this week. The news was shared during an interview with Gobinath for Behindwoods, where he also spoke about his upcoming film 45. "Jailer 2 will somewhat continue from where the 2023 film left off. I have a longer cameo appearance in the sequel," he said.

When asked why Tamil actors don't do cameos in Kannada films, Shivarajkumar said, "You'll soon see such a cameo in Kannada cinema." Jailer 2 will be directed by Nelson and is a sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer. The film will feature Rajinikanth reprising his role as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian and Ramya Krishnan returning as his wife from the first film.

'Jailer 2' to feature a star-studded cast
Jailer 2 is expected to feature Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff, who made cameo appearances in the first film. Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, and Mithun Chakraborty are rumored to be joining the sequel's cast. Vinayakan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Santhanam have also confirmed their involvement in the film. Malayalam actor Anna Raajan has been confirmed as part of the cast.

'Jailer 2' to release in June 2026
Jailer 2 is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. The film will have music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan, and editing by R Nirmal. It is set to be released in theaters worldwide on June 12, 2026. Meanwhile, Arjun Janya's directorial debut, 45, will hit theaters on Christmas Day (December 25).
