Janhvi reveals why Sridevi didn't want her to enter Bollywood
Janhvi Kapoor, in her first ever interview with a magazine, has poured her heart out about her late mother and Bollywood legend Sridevi. The 21-year-old, who turned cover girl for Vogue India's June issue, was in a conversation with her mentor Karan Johar. She revealed that Sridevi did not think that she could survive in the film industry.
"She never wanted me to be an actress"
Opening up to Karan, Janhvi said that Sridevi was extremely nervous about her debut film. "She never wanted me to be an actress. She was more relaxed about Khushi getting into films. She thought I was naive, that I wasn't thick-skinned enough. She wanted us to live a more relaxed life. She loved what she did but you know it was intense," Janhvi said.
Her last moments with Sridevi
Janhvi reminisced her last moments with her mother. She said, "The day before she left for the wedding, I had to shoot, but I couldn't sleep, so I was like, 'I need you to come and put me to sleep.' But she was packing, so by the time she came to me I was half asleep. But I could feel her patting my head."
Janhvi will be making her debut with 'Dhadak'
Janhvi is all set to enter Bollywood with Shashank Khaitan's 'Dhadak'. Co-starring Ishaan Khatter, the film will be out on July 20. It is a remake of Marathi blockbuster 'Sairat' and has been bankrolled by Karan.
