#MeToo: Kaneez Surka accuses comedienne Aditi Mittal of sexual misconduct
Tanushree Dutta-led #MeToo movement is unstoppable, and has stirred up the entire nation. This firestorm, which was so far about women calling out men, got a new version when comedienne Kaneez Surka accused fellow comedienne Aditi Mittal of sexual misconduct. While her action may not be an assault, but is clear disregard of consent. It is even stranger as Mittal has been pretty vocal about the movement herself.
Aditi forcefully kissed me during a comedy show: Kaneez
Narrating her ordeal on Twitter, Kaneez revealed how Aditi forcibly kissed her on stage during her comedy show in Mumbai, two years ago. The gesture was obviously unwelcoming and left her "humiliated, shocked and completely stripped of choice". Adding further, Kaneez said, Aditi's action violated her boundaries and consent. "Every person is entitled to choice and boundaries and she violated mine," she added.
Kaneez annoyed with Aditi's hypocrisy on #MeToo movement
Kaneez said that while Aditi did apologize to her, but she soon turned hostile. Understandably, Kaneez was shocked to see Aditi supporting the #MeToo movement lately and chose to confront her for her hypocritical approach. She also demanded a public apology for violating her boundaries and "save her the pain of revealing her identity." But looks like Aditi didn't pay any heed.
Meanwhile, Aditi denied kissing Kaneez
Although Kaneez claims that Aditi admitted her mistake earlier, the latter has now denied any such misconduct. Kaneez stated, "She gaslighted me and asked to cross-check". She further admitted being hurt by Aditi's behavior and chose to get rid of this burden. While raising the issue, Kaneez has demanded a public apology which would serve as a closure for her.

Much to everyone's surprise, Aditi Mittal went on to retweet Kaneez's #MeToo story against her. Her action has left everyone bewildered about whether she shared the story as a mark of her apology or is it the arrogance talking. Well, it's time for Aditi to be upfront about her take on this brewing controversy.
