Kannappa, inspired by sacred lore, narrates the story of Thinnadu (Manchu). Preity Mukhundhan plays Nemali in this devotional drama. The film weaves together epic storytelling with elements of drama and devotion. It was released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, it was backed by AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory.

Apart from Manchu, Kannappa also stars Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Mohan Babu, Sarath Kumar, and Brahmanandam in cameo roles. Kumar essayed Lord Shiva, while Prabhas played Rudra, his messenger. Kajal Aggarwal, Madhoo, and Mukesh Rishi were also part of the ensemble cast. The film earned only ₹44.5 crore worldwide, according to Sacnilk.
