    What's the story

With his candid demeanor and unfiltered insights, Karan Johar keeps it real on social media.

Recently, he has embarked on a spree of sharing cryptic posts on Bollywood, box office, and loyalty.

On Wednesday, he took to Instagram Stories once again, delivering a powerful message of self-acceptance.

"You absolutely HAVE to become ok with not being liked," he emphasized, highlighting the significance of prioritizing authenticity over seeking collective approval.

    Statement

    'Be ok with shining regardless'

Johar's quote read, "You absolutely HAVE to become ok with not being liked. No matter how loving or kind you are, you will never please your way into collective acceptance."

"You could be a whole ray of sunshine and people will hate you cuz they're used to rain."

He further added, "Be ok with shining regardless."

On Tuesday, Johar shared a post about one-sided love, stating, "Don't empower someone who doesn't have the same feeling for you...Self worth always wins!"

    Instagram Insights

Johar discussed cosmetic enhancements and authenticity, too

In addition to his message on self-acceptance, Johar previously addressed the topic of cosmetic enhancements on Instagram.

He expressed that while such procedures can alter physical appearance, they cannot fundamentally alter one's inherent character.

"Applying fillers doesn't bring fulfillment," he wrote in Hindi, highlighting the limitations of cosmetic procedures in altering one's essence.

The intended recipient of his harsh and cryptic messages remains undisclosed.

    Box office

When the filmmaker spoke about box office trends

Last Thursday, the filmmaker shared fresh insights on current box office trends.

He articulated, "If a big-scale project works, make one, Action films works, make action. If a love story does well, make a love story. If a chick flick is a hit, make that. The weather changes every week. It's box office, not a 30-second Instagram reel.. that will remain in trending."

His statement had come after the releases of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan.

    Upcoming ventures

Meanwhile, KJo is gearing up for 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi'

Meanwhile, work-wise, Johar recently announced his much-anticipated project Mr. & Mrs. Mahi featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, under the direction of Sharan Sharma.

Sharing the news on his Instagram, Johar expressed, "Some films are more than just stories...they are so much more than celluloid love...31st MAY 2024!!! At a cinema near you!"

Johar's last directorial venture was the 2023 hit Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
