What's the story

The much-awaited title teaser of Vijay Deverakonda's 12th film, formerly known as VD12, was unveiled on Wednesday. The action-thriller has now been officially titled Kingdom. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the teaser unveils Deverakonda's character as a "reincarnated leader" of the masses. Jr NTR's voiceover features in the Telugu version while Ranbir Kapoor and Suriya lend their voices to the Hindi and Tamil versions, respectively. The film is set to hit theaters on May 30.

'Kingdom' teaser sets a chilling tone

The one-minute and 56-second teaser of Kingdom opens with a bone-chilling shot of a burial ground by the shore, littered with dead bodies. As military agents are all set to open fire, Deverakonda's character makes his cinematic entry. This fascinating introduction has only added to the anticipation for the film. While little is known about Deverakonda's character, the teaser ends with his character saying, "I will do anything needed, sir, including destroying everything."

Production details

'Kingdom' team and Deverakonda's previous cameo

Kingdom stars Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead and is produced by Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas. The music for Kingdom is by Anirudh Ravichander and the editing is by Navin Nooli. Producer Naga Vamsi shared a behind-the-scenes photo with Suriya and thanked him for his contribution to the film. Deverakonda was last seen in a cameo role in Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD.
