Kneecap rapper granted unconditional bail amidst terrorism charges

Entertainment

Liam Og O hAnnaidh, better known as Mo Chara from the Irish rap group Kneecap, was charged with a terrorism-related offense after allegedly showing a Hezbollah flag and chanting support for Hezbollah and Hamas during a London concert last November.
In the UK, Hezbollah is considered a terrorist group.

O hAnnaidh released on unconditional bail

O hAnnaidh was released on unconditional bail after his lawyers argued the charge came too late. The court will decide on August 20 if the case can go forward.
Prosecutors say it's about what happened at the concert—not his views on Palestine.
After his release, hundreds of fans gathered outside court waving flags, where Mo Chara announced Kneecap would play Glastonbury and led chants of "Free, free Palestine."
