It is the season of giving! Spread joy, cheer and worry a bit about the fate of the Marvel Universe because Avengers: Infinity War has come to Netflix. The movie can now be streamed on Netflix in the United States, and this comes around eight months after its April release when it had stormed the box office. Read all about this exciting news here.
Netflix took to Twitter to announce the arrival of Avengers: Infinity War to their platform, in a hilarious manner. Tagging Chris Evans in their post, they displayed various pictures of the actor sporting a beard as Captain America, and said that all they wanted "for Christmas was to grow Evans' beard." They followed this with the exciting news that the film was now streaming.
For those unaware, Infinity War tells the story of the Avengers uniting under dire circumstances, after the animosity of Civil War. They must all come together to stop Thanos who is on a mission to grab all the Infinity Stones so he can make half the universe's population disappear. The film ends with the Avengers failing and losing many teammates to Thanos' finger snap.
Infinity War releases on Netflix at a wonderful time. Fans can watch the movie and brush up on what happens in the movie, not that we forgot the heroes who died, ahead of the Avengers: Endgame release. This author recommends a Marvel marathon that includes watching the other films available on Netflix including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok.
While you are enjoying Christmas on the Marvel marathon, remember that Infinity War is one of the last Marvel movies to be added to Netflix. After January 1, 2019, according to the new deal between Disney and Netflix, all new releases, starting from Captain Marvel will be headed directly to Disney+, the streaming platform that Disney is launching late next year.
