Meryl Streep to lead Netflix limited series 'The Corrections'

Netflix has greenlit a limited series titled The Corrections, starring Hollywood icon Meryl Streep. The show is based on Jonathan Franzen's novel of the same name and will be adapted by Franzen himself for the screen. Apart from starring in the series, Streep will also serve as an executive producer. Paramount Television Studios will be producing the series.

The Corrections will present "a sharply comic portrait of a Midwestern family whose three unmoored adult siblings desperately resist their mother's wish for one last Christmas together." The series will explore how each sibling is affected by "the delusional ambitions that were supposed to save them from becoming their parents." The show was first reported to be on the market in late 2024, according to Variety.

Cord Jefferson will direct all episodes
Cord Jefferson, known for his work on American Fiction and Watchmen, will be the executive producer and director of all episodes. He will be joined by Nicole Clemens, Mark Roybal, and Paul Lee as executive producers from wiip. This isn't the first time The Corrections has been eyed for a screen adaptation. A film version was once in development, but ultimately never came to fruition.
