In Mirage, Balamurali plays Abhirami, who is distraught after her fiancé, Kiran, goes missing. She teams up with Ali's character, Aswin, an online journalist, to uncover the truth. The film also stars Hakim Shahjahan as the mysterious Kiran, along with Reji Koshy and Deepak Parambol in supporting roles.

Joseph, who is also the co-writer of Mirage, is currently working on Drishyam 3 with Mohanlal. The film has begun shooting with Mohanlal reprising his role as Georgekutty. It is the third part in the Drishyam franchise after Drishyam (2013) and Drishyam 2 (2021).
