Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is set to join the cast of Jailer 2 in early December, reported IANS. While an official announcement from the makers is still awaited, sources suggest that he will be filming his portions on December 2. He will return for another shooting schedule from December 21-24.

The sequel to the blockbuster Jailer is already creating a buzz. Earlier, it was reported that Vijay Sethupathi had shot for the film in Goa, although his involvement hasn't been confirmed by the makers yet. Rajinikanth gave a brief update on the film's progress at Chennai airport back in May, stating that shooting was progressing well and would wrap up by December.

'Jailer 2' features several returning cast members
The sequel will see Ramya Krishnan return as Vijaya Pandian (Viji), wife of Rajinikanth's character Muthuvel Pandian. She had earlier confirmed her participation in the film by sharing a post that read, "26 years of Padayappa and the first day shoot of Jailer 2." Mirnaa will also reprise her role as Swetha Pandian, who is expected to have a larger role this time. Music composer Anirudh Ravichander returns for the second part too. The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
