Veteran actor Nafisa Ali has revealed that her cancer has progressed and she is now undergoing targeted therapy. The Life in a... Metro actor shared the news on Instagram, thanking her supporters for their unwavering strength during this challenging time. "My treatment protocol has changed, and now I have been put on Targeted Therapy... fighting the good fight," she wrote in a post on Sunday.

In her post, Ali also explained the implications of her recent diagnosis.
"In very simple terms, The PET/CT suggests that the ovarian/peritoneal cancer has progressed, with new deposits on the surface of the liver."
She is currently battling stage 4 peritoneal and ovarian cancer, having been first diagnosed in 2018 when she was treated for stage 3 cancer.
Treatment history
Ali had undergone surgery in April
Ali was diagnosed with a recurrence of stage 4 peritoneal cancer last year and underwent surgery in April. She had been receiving chemotherapy as part of her ongoing treatment.
In July, she completed her 10th chemotherapy session and flew to Goa for some much-needed rest by the sea.
"Happy did my 10th chemotherapy yesterday and flew to Goa today for my beach walk ... the sea is my healer," she wrote on Instagram then.
