New releases: Dystopia, thriller and dinosaurs
Three fresh films just landed in theaters: "Jurassic World Rebirth" brings back dinosaur thrills with a secret island mission;
"40 Acres" dives into post-apocalyptic family survival; and
"Ponyboi" explores identity and crime in neon-lit New Jersey.
'Jurassic World Rebirth'
Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, sent to a hidden island to grab dinosaur biomaterial that could cure heart disease.
Directed by Gareth Edwards and written by original Jurassic Park writer David Koepp, expect suspense, action, and plenty of mutant dinos.
'40 Acres' and 'Ponyboi'
In "40 Acres," Danielle Deadwyler leads a family defending their farm in a famine-struck world.
Meanwhile, "Ponyboi" follows an intersex protagonist (River Gallo) navigating the gritty side of New Jersey, with Victoria Pedretti and Dylan O'Brien along for the ride.
