'Dream Girl' actress Nushrat Bharucha reveals how she overcame depression
Nushrat Bharucha, who is currently enjoying the success of Dream Girl, recently opened up on her battle with depression. The actress stated that she underwent a low phase in her life, after her career hit a roadblock. However, it was her belief in good things that helped her during the rough phase. "I kept believing that things will get better next day," Nushrat added.
Speaking about how she dealt with depression, Nushrat said, "I thank people around me; friends and family, someone who can silently exist with you in your silence. There was a voice in me (saying) that I'll get through this. If that wasn't there, then it would have been a serious problem." The Pyaar Ka Punchnama actress made this revelation during her interview with Pinkvilla.
Notably, Nushrat isn't the only actress who has spoken about her mental illness. Recently, Shraddha Kapoor also admitted to facing anxiety issues for around six years. The Baaghi 3 actress said that she experienced "physical manifestations of anxiety," and was pretty surprised when she felt a pain that had "no physiological diagnosis." And while she isn't fully recovered, Shraddha has learned to "embrace it".
"We got so many tests done but there was nothing wrong with me in the doctor's report. It's bizarre because I kept thinking about why I was getting that pain. Then I kept asking myself why that is happening," Shraddha told Pinkvilla.
Getting back to Nushrat, after Dream Girl, the 34-year-old actress will be seen in Hansal Mehta's upcoming directorial, Turram Khan. The movie will also star Rajkummar Rao in the lead, and is scheduled to release on January 31 next year. Besides, Nushrat is working on Hurdang opposite Gold actor Sunny Kaushal. Reportedly, the movie is a love story and will be shot in Prayagraj.
