A week after the wedding of Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja, the couple has found itself in the middle of an unnecessary controversy.
A certain group has raised objections on their traditional Sikh wedding ceremony. The uproar is over a brooch (kalgi) that was there on Anand's turban.
Sonam and Anand tied the knot on May 8 at her aunt's bungalow in Mumbai.
As per a media report, former office-bearers of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) are miffed with its current staffers as they didn't remove Anand's brooch from his turban during the ceremony, in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib. This counts as a violation of Sikh tenets.
The issue has been taken to the Akal Takht.
Meanwhile, soon after the wedding, Sonam flew to the French Riviera to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.
The diva has been slaying it there, one stunning outfit at a time.
Post this, Sonam will indulge in the promotional activities of her upcoming release 'Veere Di Wedding'.
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh of 'Khoobsurat' fame, 'Veere Di Wedding' also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. It will hit the screens on June 1.
